O_O; DEAR...MY...LORD. What a night...and morning.
Oh my, where to start.. I suppose I shall start with the events leading up to this very interesting night. Well, I went to sleep after posting the previous blog entry, but apparently I set my alarm for 6:30PM instead of AM. So I wake up at 8:30AM and grumble as I hurry to get ready and get to the tire place. I spent about 4 hours there (don't ask -_-). I got all 4 tires replaced and the battery replaced. After that, I went to the vehicle inspection place right next door and spent only about 5mins there. My truck finally taken care of (at about 1PM), I head off to work where I spend the next 3 hours powerwashing a pool and scooping chipped out pieces of tile with a shovel (it's a remodel job). By this time, I'm about ready to pass out. The only thing I had to eat was a bag of chips from a vending machine at the tire place and I drank some ice water while I was working. So, I go to Sonic, get some food, eat, and then work for another hour. The boss finally gets there and says he needs me to go clean some pools before the end of the day. I say okay and glady turn the scooping over to him. After one mosquito infested pool, I decide I've had enough and go pick up a friend who is now spending the weekend at my house (from here on, this friend will be refered to with the kanji for "tiger" which is "虎"). On the way back to my house, we stop and clean one last pool, where we spend about an hour waiting for it to fill back up. Once home we dump the equipment and try to figure out what we want to do. And as if in answer... My best friend calls me up and tells me we are going to help this lady "remodel" one of her houses, but that it will be later that night so find something to do in Bossier to kill some time until then. So 虎 and I go to the Boardwalk and chill at the arcade for a while playing Time Crisis and House of the Dead (both of them). Once we run out of money (and discover that we don't have any in our bank accounts) we call my best friend up (from here on refered to as "BOB") and say "Hey BOB, what's the plan?" Well, he was on his way home, so we headed to my house. When we get there, we find BOB sitting on the tailgate of his truck with an aluminium bat. 虎 and BOB had never met, so I introuduced them to each other. Shortly after, BOB's mom calls... BEGIN BACKSTORY The husband of a friend of BOB's mom suddenly went psycho. The got seperated. She bought a new house. And life went on..until Psycho Husband got worse and attacked his wife as well as BOB's mom. He got arrested, but knows someone on the city council and got off the hook right away. END BACKSTORY ...Psycho Husband attacked her again, but she was saved by a cop who saw it happen and didn't care about his contact on the city council. In fact, after hearing the story, he said that they should do more to make him pay, because the police dept. can't do anything if a member of the city council is going to get him out of trouble every time. They did do something. They called us. As soon as we heard what happened, we grabbed our blunt objects for protection and high-tailed it to Bossier City. Apparently, Wife found Psycho Husband (PH) FU<K!|\|G some other broad on the living room couch (NOTE: They are still married.). This is apparently what led up to the confrontation where BOB's mom was attacked by the man a second time. Where BOB and 虎 and I come in at is Slut (the chick PH had on top of him on the couch) drove PH's truck (which Wife is part owner of) off after he was arrested, and Wife didn't want Slut getting away with that truck. We all meet up at PH's and Wife's house (we all = BOB, BOB's mom, Wife, 虎, and myself) and... *pleads the fifth* ...so then we head off in search of Slut and PH's/Wife's truck after having learned that Slut is at her home, which is where BOB, 虎 and I head next.
Shining a flashlight down the long dark driveway of Slut's house, we see the truck and give Wife and BOB's mom a call. They in turn call Slut and tell her to put the truck on the street so they can come get it. They also tell her that they have some private investigators watching the house and the vehicle (which wasn't entirely untrue.. ^^). So began our roles as P.I.'s. After talking to Slut, Wife calls us back and relays what she told Slut. Soon after this, Slut gets in her car and drives it down the street where she pulls into someone's drive way. We report this and continue watching. Several mins. later, Slut comes back toward us with another vehicle following behind. And not long after that, the truck is on the road. No sooner does Slut get out of the truck and close the door, BOB is slamming on the breaks (after telling Wife that we will get the truck and call them back), jumping out, leaving me to jump into the driver seat and 虎 to climb into the passenger seat, effectively performing a "chinese fire drill". (NOTE: BOB never did let go of his bat. Not when driving, and not when getting out of the truck.) BOB goes up to the truck and Slut asks who he is. He says that he is there to get the truck for Wife and then gets in. Finding that the keys are not in the truck, he gets out and asks slut where they are and Slut promptly hand him the keys at arms length saying, "Here they are baby. No problem." Once inside the truck again, he starts it and drives off, leaving me to follow behind in his vehicle. He calls Wife and lets her know that we have the truck and then decide on a meeting place. The truck get's droped off and then we head to... *pleads the fifth again* Once we leave there with some of Wife's belongings (we had fun while we were there), we tried to find a place that was named on a taged key. No luck. By this time, the sun was starting to brighten the horizon so we all decided to go home and get some sleep.
It is now past dawn and I am finally about done with this blog so I can go to sleep. An adventure like this one deserves to be posted about as quickly as possible.
also, please keep your eyes peeled for the "Inquisitor". It can be found free, next to other paper stands. If it has anything in it about Bridges to Beauty (the plastic surgery place), be sure to read it!

belated New Year's resolution
Well, just like most Americans in the U.S., my New Year's resolution is to get in shape. Unlike most, I took my sweet time getting ready, where most just get straight to it and burn themselves out in the first couple weeks. The main reason I waited so long is because my school, Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC), has recently built a Fitness Center (minus the pool..). Unfortunately, they had a few delays due to some flooding or something of that nature, and had to redo all the floors. But now, they are finally going to open it to the students. Students wanting to use the center have sit through a 15min. orientation, sign of release of liability waiver, and get a small sticker on the back of their student IDs. I got mine. It says "FC" in small red letters. The center is "free", but only students can use it due to limited staffing. I will be frequenting the FC on the days that I am at school. I have also started riding my bike. I managed six miles today. I would have only gone two or three, but I messed up on my measurements and had to start over, I was bound and determined to figure out how many laps around the little neighborhood behind where I live equaled a mile. I also figured the distance from my house, to the end of one street and back. That's it for now. I'll post on this again in a couple weeks. Later folks! my day
What a day. I wake up to my cellphone going off and the sun shining in my face through the blinds. I should have known by how the sun was mocking me that I wouldn't be having a fun day.. I answered my phone and was greeted by the sound of my dad's voice telling me get up and get dressed, he would be at my house in about fifteen minutes to pick me up for work. Well, I was ready and out the door in twenty, and already I could feel the pull of a migraine headache behind my eyes, but I dismissed it as my tired eyes hurting from being out in the daylight so soon after waking up. Later in the day, it hit me. Hard. So hard in fact, that I almost fell over. But, due to my experiences in the past, I knew how to remain vertical. What a long day this would turn out to be. It wasn't even lunch time yet. Though seeing as how I hadn't had breakfast yet, I decided to blame the massive headache on lack of nourishment. After lunch, it only grew worse. I was at a job site with my dad, so I checked the first aid kit for some pain medicine. None at all. What my dad and I spent the day doing, was assembling a new filtering system for the wave tank that the movie people are using. Apparently something is wrong with the one they have and they need the darn tank clear in 2 days. It's a big frickin pool. I posted info about it before. We finally finished pouring about 900 pounds of sand into the filters and started up the pump at sunset. Everything worked well so we cleaned up and I hopped into the truck while my dad talked to the Marine Coordinator (go see the movie and watch the credits for his name ^_^). The mosquitoes are horrible this year. They are bigger than the common house fly! Once I got home, I got my shower and called my friend. He came over and we went out to eat and went to wal-mart. The all day long headache finally stoped while I was eating. I also checked my email and found one from my friend Miki! I was excited when I read it. Miki is from Japan and will be here for only two years. She is always busy with work, so I never get to talk to her. She is off this Thursday though, so I may have to take off early from work to meet her at a cafe for coffee. She is going to help me with my Japanese and Kana. Anyway, the headache is back slightly now. Maybe it is related to all the Japanese I am trying to cram into my poor skull. I doubt it. It just hasn't gone away all the way and trying to learn anything right now is making it come back. That is all for now. It's kinda cool to actually be writing a blog. I wonder why I had such a problem with it before... Current Mood: contemplative | | 9:25 pm |
Telecom. Assignment Status: COMPLETE!!!!!
FINALLY! After about six long weeks, most of my class, including me, has turned in their movie trailer assignments. compared to most, mine sucked giant, salty slug. Compared to others, it was pretty good. Anyway, I think I got a good grade. The class seemed to like the nostalgia caused by my movie trailer. ^^ My project went through several last moment changes, as most do, and I will be posting it shortly. I'll be sure to post the link to it here in my blog thingy once I get that done. -Chris Current Mood: accomplished | | 9:02 pm |
Japanese
Well, I am studying Japanese. I recently dove head first into the book, Japanese for Dummies. I have aslo collected several Penpals from Japan that are more than happy to help me learn their language. ^_^ As much as I would love to take a class instead of using the aforementioned book, there are no classes available at any of the nearby colleges. After the hours I spent searching for a class to take, I spent even more time searching for a tutor. All my hours of searching finally turned up a woman, that I assume to be local, that could tutor me in Japanese. Unfortunately, I have alsmost no money and it would cost me $45.00 an hour for tutoring. I also looked up some programs for studying abroad. The program I liked the most invloved Immersive Language Study, which is where one goes to the country to study the language first hand. Because one is around the language almost constantly when outside of the classroom, one tends to retain more of what was studied that day. The program consists of about twenty hours a week, for one month. It also includes plenty of hands on cultural education. Once again though, I am thwarted in my pursuit of knowledge about Japan due to my financial restraints. The cost for the program, including room and board, food, travel and medical insurance, the classes, the trips that would be taken to go out and see parts of Tokyo, which is where the classes would be held, being picked up from the airport, and many other things that I can't remember at the moment, is in excess of $3000. Basically the only thing that price does not include, is the plane ticket (about $1,300 for round trip ticket). I tried to share this with my family, but they wouldn't hear about it. They showed no intrest, what-so-ever, in doing anything other than keeping me here with them. I won't even go into the Paranoid rant that my grandmother pulled on me. The sever lack of support for my intrests in learning Japanese and about Japan is quite depressing. I am still very determined to learn and will not go down easy on this one. Right now, though, I know very little in the way of Japan or the language, and what little interaction I have had with my penpals has been confusing, especially one thing. I have been trying to learn Kana, which is the Japanese Characters. Maybe I will try to explain a problem that I have been having. But for now, I am content to be able to use them. ^^ I will keep you all updated on my progress. ????! (for those of you that are unable to view anything other than squares, or stars or question marks, I just typed "sayonara" in Hiragana, which is one form of Kana) -Chris Current Mood: determined | | Friday, February 24th, 2006 | | 1:19 am |

Assignment complete? LET'S HOPE SO!
Well everyone, I think I may have finally finished my movie trailer project for one of my telecommunications classes. The class was told to take any movie, and make a trailer for it (a.k.a. a comercial). I picked Transformers: The Movie because I've been watching Transformers since before I can remember. Even my dad doesn't remember when I started watching Transformers. I also chose it because, well, I'm just a geek that way. -_^ All I have left to do at the moment is get some constructive criticism and edit accordingly. I'll let you know how it turned out! ^.^ | | Wednesday, February 8th, 2006 | | 8:04 pm |
Magda Hiller at Bossier Parish Community College
Well, I had seen the flyers, but I forgot that there was going to be a special guest at BPCC today. Also, I hadn't realized that she was going to be next to the coffee stand in the Student Services building. Anyway, when I first saw the flyers I was thinking, "Oh no, another attempt by the school at something cool." I must give credit to the school for a few fun things in the past, but usually the things that the school does are pretty lame. Not this time though. They had this lady, Magda Hiller, come to the school and play guitar and sing. There is kind of a "bluesy" feel to it to quote a few of my friends. Magda is very good and very entertaining. The group of people I usually hang out with quicky got her attention and we were able to talk to her between her performances. As it turns out, she is almost as weird as we are! Some of us gave her some lessons that she enjoyed very much. We also sang for her and she plans on going to AlbinoBlackSheep.com to find the songs and learn them for herself. While Magda was on break, I showed her some of the random stuff that my friends and I filmed around school (I'll be attempting to upload the video to any web page that I can). She thought it was funny. That is until she got up to perform and I turned the camera on her. After a few failed attempts at recording her by just letting the camera sit on the table with something under it so the shot would be framed up properly, I picked up the camera and held it, which did make the video better because I was able zoom in and out and and keep Hiller framed properly. After Magda finished and started packing her stuff up, my friends and I talked to her some more and got her email and she told us that she has a Myspace (just go to Myspace.com and do a search for her name). I also got her permision to post the video I made of her singing. I will do this as soon as I finish editing and find a place to post it. Well, I hope you liked reading this, I'll try to post at least once a week about something, even if it's just to say how boring the week was. I must say though, that this may have been my best day at BPCC yet. Current Mood: creative | | Wednesday, December 28th, 2005 | | 4:35 pm |
